The Chamber of Manitowoc County, with its publishing of The Chamber Notebook, provides space for chamber members to present information about their business. The Project Mini-Chopper Committee consists of Rick Conrad and Kari Mueller, Manitowoc Public School District Karen Szyman and Stacy Eaton, The Chamber of Manitowoc County Sara Greenwood, School District of Mishicot Ashley Armstrong, Jill Hennessey and Robin Kaufmann, Lakeshore Technical College. The Ant Hill Mob Motorcycle Club has maintained a continued support. As if the bike unveiling wasn’t enough, the teams are judged Best in Show by representatives from Harley Davidson and in builder’s class categories by bike show attendees, fueling a friendly, but spirited, competition among the student teams and tech ed instructors. Every year, more than 250 parents, friends and community supporters cheer the student teams as they present the design, build and management of their creations and start their engines. The bikes will be unveiled at the 2016 Ant Hill Mob Annual Bike Show April 22. This partnership is an important component in the project, building a relationship between the students and their sponsor. These sponsoring companies provide not only the monetary support needed to fund the bike build, but also valuable time needed to collaborate on all project phases - from design to final build. and Two Rivers High School, sponsored by Broadwind Energy. Teams this year include Mishicot High School, sponsored by Sadoff Iron and Metal Company Lincoln High School, sponsored by Allstates Rigging Inc. Teams will once again refurbish a motorcycle versus building from scratch, which is a bit more challenging for the students, not to mention it repurposes a machine that may have ended up in a scrapyard.
